Rwanda Institute for Conservation Agriculture (RICA) the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) entered a 5-year strategic academic and research partnership. Signed on 18 September 2025, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aims to boost collaboration. It also aims to strengthen ties, and advance goals in conservation agriculture and related fields.
The MoU framework supports activities like teaching, research, student & faculty exchanges, technology transfer, and curriculum development. RICA students gain graduate assistantship opportunities at UNL, providing Rwandan scholars with advanced training in sustainable agriculture.
Both RICA and UNL recognize shared strengths in conservation agriculture, experiential education, One Health, entrepreneurship, and applied research. This partnership promises impactful advances in agricultural innovation, CA promotion and extension.
