Our Leaders

Dr. Yerokun holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Benedict College in South Carolina, and a master’s and doctoral degree in Crop and Soil Sciences from Michigan State University, located in the United States. Prior to his time at RICA, he served as a professor and the Vice Chancellor of the Zambian Open University. His research and extension efforts focus on soil acidity and nutrient management in smallholder farming, rural development, and sustainable environmental stewardship. Ms. Bwakira holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the United States International University. She has decades of experience in the education, program management, operations, communications and information management, gained while working for various United Nations agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations and private sector entities. She is an integral part of managing day-to-day operations of RICA.

Mr. Kayisinga holds a Bachelor of Science in Soil Sciences and Rural Engineering from the University of Rwanda and a Master of Agribusiness (MAB) from Texas A&M University in the United States. His previous work includes serving as the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources of the Government of Rwanda, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer at the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB), and a Country Director of the Clinton Foundation’s Clinton Development Initiative in Rwanda. He has also served as Chief of Party with USAID-funded projects and as a lecture at the University of Rwanda. He can be reached via email at jckayisinga@rica.rw

Ms. Ntukanyagwe holds master’s degrees in public and development policy from the University of Cape Town and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Kwazulu-Natal. Here key focus is the development and execution of responsive and progressive student-centered programs and services that support students’ academic growth, and personal development.
