Gaining hands-on experience in conservation agriculture
At RICA, we believe that hands-on experience is paramount in shaping the next generation of agricultural leaders. That’s why our comprehensive six-month internship program is a cornerstone of our curriculum that is designed to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application. This experience allows students to delve deeper into their chosen specialization – Crop Production, Animal Production, Mechanization & Irrigation, or Food Processing – and develop real-world connections and skills to prepare them for future success.
Internship Opportunities
Through RICA’s extensive network of partners across Rwanda, students have the opportunity to be hosted by a diverse range of institutions, including private-sector businesses, non-profit organizations, extension services, government agencies, and farming cooperatives. This variety ensures a well-rounded understanding of the agricultural sector and the diverse career pathways available.
Conservation Agriculture
RICA offers specialized conservation agriculture internships for selected students, enabling them to gain practical experience in the field. These opportunities include internships at the innovative Nasho Irrigation Cooperative (NAICO) in Rwanda’s Kirehe district, and at the Center for No-Till Agriculture (CNTA) in Ghana.
