CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: THE 2ND NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON CONSERVATION AGRICULTURE
The Rwanda Institute for Conservation Agriculture (RICA) and key partners in Conservation Agriculture (CA) invite researchers, practitioners, development partners, students, policymakers, private sector organizations and farmers to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations at the Second National Symposium on Conservation Agriculture taking place on 12 – 13 November 2026 at the RICA Campus in Bugesera District.
The symposium will provide a national platform for sharing research findings, innovations, practical experiences, and solutions that can accelerate the mainstreaming and scaling of Conservation Agriculture in Rwanda.
Thematic Areas
Abstracts are encouraged on, but not limited to, the following thematic areas:
- Conservation Agriculture research and innovation
- Soil health and sustainable land management
- Climate-smart agriculture and resilience
- Sustainable Water management and irrigation systems
- Mechanization and agricultural technologies for Conservation Agriculture
- Crop-livestock integration and regenerative agriculture
- One Health approaches in crop and livestock production
- Extension, capacity building, and farmer adoption
- Policy, institutional support, and financing for Conservation Agriculture
- Private-sector engagement and agribusiness opportunities
- Youth, gender and inclusive agricultural transformation.
Submitted abstracts should:
- Indicate the title, author names and affiliations, corresponding author/email
- Clearly state the background, objectives, methodology, key findings, and conclusions.
- Be of ≤300 words and indicate 3-5 Keywords
- Be written and submitted in English.
- Indicate the author’s preferred presentation format: oral presentation or poster presentation.
- Indicate the preferred presentation type (in person or online) and duration and poster size

We encourage interested contributors to prepare their abstracts and take part in this important national platform for advancing Conservation Agriculture and building sustainable, productive, and resilient food systems in Rwanda.
